Behavioral Interview 13 November 2008 at 10:55 am by Premium Blogger

Behavioral interviewing is a technique used by employers in which the questions asked assist the employer in making predictions about a potential employee’s future success based on actual past behaviors, instead of based on responses to hypothetical questions.

It is  to discover how the interviewee dealt a specific employment-related situations.
Behavioral interviewing is a style of interviewing that was developed in the 1970’s by industrial psychologists. Currently, most organizations are using behavioral interviewing to some degree.
In behavior-based interviews, you are asked to give specific examples of when you demonstrated particular behaviors or skills.

An interviewer using behavioral techniques would ask the same question this way.
“Give me a specific example of a time when you had to address an angry customer. What was the problem and what was the outcome?”
